A concordant feature is a sheltered bay like LULWORTH COVE.

Erosional features such as stacks, stumps, caves, arches, blow holes and geos can be seen at OLD HARRY'S ROCKS in Dorset.

A spit is a depositional feature which can be seen at SPURN HEAD on the Holderness Coast in North-East England.

A tombolo, an island connected to the mainland by a beach is at CHESIL BEACH in Dorset in South-West England.

Another example of a tombolo is ST NINIAN ISLAND in West Scotland.

SLAPTON LEY is an example of a Bar in Devon in South-East England.

A hooked or recurved spit is at HURST CASTLE SPIT in Dorset.

A double spit is formed from a breach of a pre-existing spit or bar and the examples can be seen at CHRISTCHURCH in Dorset and at LAUDHELM BEACH in Maine.

There is a barrier beach or bar at SLAPTON SANDS in Devon.

Examples of barrier Islands can be found all along the coast in NORTH CAROLINA in the USA.

An example of a cuspate foreland is DUNGENESS in Kent.

Rias are flooded river valleys and this happened in SLOVA in Pembrokeshire in South-West Wales.

Fjords are flooded glacial valleys and examples of this can been seen in Norway, a named one is SOGNE FJORDEN in  West Norway (below). However outside of Europe fjords can also be found in ARGENTINA in South America.

Fjards are flooded glacial lowland, for example BANTRY BAY  in Ireland.

Coastal terraces can be seen on the ISLE OF ARRAN in Scotland. There are beaches at 8m, 15m and 30m due to Glacial rebound.

PORTLAND in Dorset is 16m above sea level and is an example of a Raised Beach.
